Videos of Isaac

Here's a video of Daddy and Isaac "talking" to each other in their own language.

Here's a video of Isaac "playing" with his new rattles. His arms aren't quite big enough to shake them yet!

Update from Gramma and Nanna visits

So it's been a fun two weeks with Gramma and Nanna visiting, but it was sad to see Gramma leave on Saturday and Nanna will leave on Friday :-( We are unhappy that they had to leave, but glad that they came for a visit. Both Gramma and Nanna took more pictures than can ever be looked at, but they adore their pictures. They also made me promise to update pictures on my blog as much as possible, so if you get tired of looking at Isaac (which I don't know how you could) just ignore us and we will get back to updating you on life soon. Of course we will have Isaac pictures.

Below are just some random pictures of Isaac. Mommy has been taking so many pictures, the poor child has got to be tired of the flash, however he's so cute I just can't stand it. At the bottom are pictures of Gramma and Nanna with Isaac during their first meeting.

More pictures of his 2 week birthday

Hanging with Mommy and Daddy

Daddy time, he loves it.

So here's the story.....
Because he was circumcised yesterday he hasn't felt that great today. So Mommy was trying to get a few things done while he was sleeping. He started crying and I was carrying stuff into the bedroom and had to put it down before I could go check on him. He was screaming by the time I got to him. This is why. He had pushed himself into the corner of his crib and was stuck. Let's just say we normally put him in the crib and he moves side to side, but I've never seen him do this. Tell me he isn't the smartest kid that he can already figure out how to move himself in his crib. What a sad face????

Two weeks old today

Seriously, where has the time gone? I can't believe that Isaac is two weeks old today. In one sense, it feels like he was born yesterday, in other sense, I feel like I've been a mom forever.
I feel like I getting the hang of this whole mom thing. The feedings, changing the diapers, lack of sleep, and crying are all becoming a way of life that I'm actually enjoying. I told Bill last night that I don't even mind getting up two or three times a night to feed him and take care of him. Yes, it would be nice to have a full nights sleep, but one day we will get there. As Pastor John preached on Sunday this is just temporary. One day he will sleep through the night. Honestly I can't complain too much, he usually sleeps at least 3 and 1/2 to 4 hours at a time. During the day I've had to wake him up to be fed. He's such a good baby.
I'm more overwhelmed everyday by the responsibility I have in raising and caring for Isaac. I'm reminded that he's not my son, he's God's son and my goal for him is to grow up knowing who God is and instilling in him the importance of not only being saved but growing in a relationship with God everyday. My question is, how do you instill in your child who God is and what He means to me and to Bill. Interestingly enough, God works in such an amazing way. As I've said before, God has been working on me, teaching me many things and later I'll find out that God has been working on Bill in the same way. I know that I am so privileged to be able to stay home with Isaac. I am so thankful that God has given me this opportunity, especially since I can't imagine leaving him every day. Because I'm home with him I do get to spend more time with him. During these time I love praying for him out loud as he's eating or while I'm holding him. Little did I know that Bill has been doing the same thing with him when they spend time alone. I'm guessing when they are this little, this is how you introduce them to who God is and what He means to us. Even though he doesn't understand, we've been telling him how God has been so faithful and provided for us even since he was born. Our prayer is that we never forget to tell Isaac how faithful God is. Even when things are hard, we must remind him how faithful God is to us every day. Even when we don't see His hand working, we must have faith that He is always working.
So of course I must end my post with more pictures of my buddy.

Sleeping in my chair....so sleepy today

Sunday Evening

Here we are on Sunday evening just relaxing with Nancy and Russ. I thought I would share some pictures from the weekend for my avid followers ;-)

We took Isaac to a birthday party on Friday night. The little guy got pass around all night, but never seemed to mind a bit. He's such a good baby. Although I think that my sleeping baby is starting to be an awake baby. He's staying awake more and more every day. People are actually getting to see his blue eyes.

Our little buddy on the way to the party.

His hat is once again too big.

He's sacked out after the party, he was so tired.

Nancy and Russ came to visit on Saturday night. They will be able to visit for a week. Here are so pictures from their arrival.

One week old

So here we are one week old. I just said to Bill I can't believe how different our life was just one week ago. I went to the doctor today for my one week check up. Everything was good! He told me he'd see me in 5 weeks, but things are good. The best news of the day was my weigh in. I know, how many women can say that's their favorite part of their doctors appointment? I was anxious to see my weight, mainly because I knew I had only gained 4 lbs throughout this pregnancy so I was almost guaranteed that I would weigh less now than I did before I gave birth last week. I was pleasantly surprised. I have lost 21 lbs since last week and I now weigh 17 lbs less than I did before I got pregnant. Plus the better news, the nurse told me to expect to lose more weight. I am so happy! I wasn't expecting to see the scale says 21 lbs less than the last time.
As I'm sitting here reflecting on last Thursday, I am thinking that just about this time is when I got to hold my son for the first time. How amazing has this week been????
I know you didn't ask the question, but I'll answer it for you. This week has been so amazing. Trying at times, no doubt about it, but it has been one of the best weeks of my life. With the addition of Isaac to our family it feels like this is how it's meant to be. We have thoroughly enjoyed this past week.
Bill and I both feel like not only has Isaac been a wonderful and amazing addition to our family, we feel like having Isaac has created a bond between us like we've never had before. As we were talking last night, we really feel like this is what God's plan is for parents. Having a child creates such a bond between you that cannot be broken. It's such an amazing feeling and I have such an amazing husband. I'm sure you all are getting tired of hearing me go on and on about my wonderful husband, my perfect child and my great life. But, I feel like I'm so blessed that I just have to share with everyone how much God has blessed me. Bill has been so amazing, helping not only to take care of Isaac, but helping me so much. I forget sometimes that I not only just had a baby last week, but I did have major surgery. Bill reminds me of this and that he needs to take care of me. He has just been so amazing. He has been waiting on me hand and foot and makes sure that I have everything that I need as well as making sure he takes Isaac for me for a few hours every night so that I can have so time to myself and rest. He's so amazing. Of course I think he has other motives like spending time with Isaac. He is certainly a Daddy's boy. It's really weird to see him when Bill gets home from work. Maybe weird isn't the right word. As soon as Bill walks in and starts talking Isaac immediately turns towards him to look at him. It is the neatest thing to see him look for Bill when he comes in.

God has blessed us so much and we are so thankful for all of His blessings. We are also thankful that you have come along this journey with us and your continued prayers. I've been so amazed at the messages we've gotten from people following our blog. We do hope that our story encourages you however God sees fit. Ultimate Bill and I both want everyone to know how faithful God is. His faithfulness to us is overwhelming. God is so good.

Here are some pictures from the last few days.

Isaac's shirt says "I still live with my parents"

Daddy and Isaac time

His newest trick...holding his pacifier between his two fingers. He puts it back in his mouth when he spits it. Unless he spits it too far. He's a smart boy. We've also noticed as soon as you put him in his crib he rolls on his side. He's moving too fast.

An attempt at a smile. He has just eaten and I always think he has this look on his face that says my belly is full and I'm happy.

One week old and looking so peaceful in his crib.

The first time I had to run and get the camera.....

So tonight, Daddy sent the day at work and was dying for some cuddle time with Isaac. So Daddy took Isaac downstairs and they bonded over Battle Star Galactica on Daddy's new TV so that Mommy could rest. What a good Daddy! Daddy brought him up around 8:30 and they came to say hi and Daddy went to change his diaper. Daddy has been amazing at changing diapers. I've only had to change diapers when Daddy wasn't home. Isn't that amazing.
So I'm laying there trying to wake up a little bit and I hear Daddy say "Oh he got me." I knew what that meant. I immediately started laughing which is a painful thing to do these days. By the time I got into Isaac's room, Daddy was standing there covered in pee. All over his shorts, all over Isaac, all over the changing table. All Mommy could do was laugh. Isaac was screaming because he was cold and wet and there was pee everywhere. Of course, before I had to get there, I had to go run and grab the camera. I knew this would be a picture perfect moment to catch on film.
Daddy went to get some new clothes while Mommy cleaned up Isaac and tried to change his clothes. Let's just say when Isaac is happy and warm he's not to happy about getting his clothes changed. Under these circumstances (just waking up, being cold and wet and having his clothes changed) he was not a happy camper. Mommy grabbed the first warm outfit she saw knowing it might be a little big. Well......two things. Not only was it too big, but the outfit had snaps in the back. I was just trying to put it on him and every time I put his legs in, he would move and his legs would come out. I finally gave up on the legs and tried the arms which almost fit. As you'll see in the picture below, by the time all is said and done, Isaac is starving from exerting so much energy that he's literally eating Daddy's face as Mommy tries to button his outfit and his outfit is WAY too big. So Mommy fed him and he fell asleep he was so exhausted after all the commotion. His little legs are so little that they are hardly even long enough to reach the legs of the outfits, much less fit into them. But Mommy didn't have the heart to change his clothes again so he fell asleep eating and Mommy put him in his crib to rest.
I'm sure that you had to be there to get the full effect of the funniness of this story, but I thought I'd share with you and share the pictures.

Daddy's wet pants after Isaac gave him a "shower."

Isaac's way too big outfit.....

Tuesday Morning Update

So here we are, our third day at home and loving it. We took our first outing to run some errands yesterday. Isaac slept through entire thing. He was so good. He seems to love his car seat.
Here are so pictures from the past few days.

Getting ready to go out for some errands.

Mommy and Isaac getting ready to go out.

Daddy and Isaac doing their favorite thing, taking a nap. I've noticed no matter where Bill lays, Isaac roots all around until he gets right up by his face. He loves his Daddy.

So Isaac was taking a nap in our room yesterday and Daddy decided that Isaac was cold. So, he went and got a doggy hat just to make sure he doesn't get a cold. Since Isaac was sleeping, mommy and daddy decided to sleep too. When mommy got up to check, she saw the picture below. His hat was so big that while he slept it moved down and covered his face. He i so cute!

So what have I learned for being home with this new baby? God give you a strength to handle parenting a new baby. Please don't misunderstand me, this is the most wonderful experience in the world and there's no way that I would ever trade it. However nobody can prepare you for how hard it is or how you will feel. God has given us, but specifically me, a strength that only He can give in order to equip you for the day. He is my strength.
