Christmas in the Ford house

I love Christmas. Actually it's hard to express in words how much I love Christmas. I love everything about it. The lights, the ornaments, the trees, all the decorations, the movies, the music, everything. We put our Christmas tree up yesterday! Isaac loved playing with the branches on the tree. He couldn't figure out if I took one away how more appeared in the floor for him to play with. It was quite funny. He didn't really want to play with anything except the screw that held the tree in the stand. We ran out of lights half way through so I had to run and get more. While I was gone, Isaac got a bath and ready for bed and Bill and I finished the tree after Isaac was in bed. I must say I think it's the best tree yet. I love it. We have all the ornaments that Bill and I buy every year and then Isaac's first ornament and his new Elmo ornament.
I knew he would be excited this morning when he got up and saw the tree all together. So Bill brought him in and I got to capture some pictures and a cute video. He was so excited he just squealed. It took him about 10 minutes to actually touch the tree. He's only taken off a few ornaments. I'm going with the theory that if I let him touch a few and hold them instead of telling him no that maybe the excitement of not touching them will wear off and he will leave them alone. Not sure if reverse psychology will work on him or not, but who knows. Time will only tell.

Here's a video of him seeing the tree.

Here are a few pictures of our tree and Isaac.

Helping Momma with the branches

This is all he wanted to do for a while. He also eats the metal doorstops at the church office and recently he's been attracted to the metal hinges on the door. I wonder if he's in need of some vitamin.

Twas the night before Thanksgiving

So it's the night before Thanksgiving and what are we doing? Isaac is sleeping and Bill is in la la land because he has a cold and he took nighttime medicine which makes him very loopy. So I was reading some other blog and realized that it's been a while since I updated the blog.

There are tons of people on Facebook that have been sharing what they are thankful for each day. I haven't done that for several reason. One I am so emotional I cry reading other peoples post. Tonight I even cried when I told Bill we needed to get Isaac Christmas pajama's. So what am I thankful for? I am thankful for God's provision and faithfulness. We have seen His protection in so many ways over the last few weeks. I am thankful for my family, even though we are all very far away. I'm thankful for the friends we've made here that treat us like family. I am thankful for our home. Never would we have imagined that we would live in a house this big. Of course if we keep having kids at this rate, we will fill it up quickly ;-) God's plan is bigger than our plan when it comes to having kids. We are thankful for so many things this year.

Like I said we are very thankful for God's protection over the last few weeks. God has provided good reports from the doctor. Isaac is allergic to something, although we can't figure out what, but fortunately he just breaks out in hives rather than it being much worse. Now if we can only figure out what it is. We think it might be ice cream or yogurt. The strange thing, he doesn't break out from any other milk products. As the doctor says it could be anything from a virus to a food allergy to something he's come in contact with. He's up to 21lbs 13 oz. We go back for his 10 month check-up on Monday and I'm sure he will be over 22lbs. This child eats like a horse. I can't imagine what he'll be like when he's a teenager. Today for lunch he had 3 full chicken nuggets and tons of fries. I only had 5 nuggets. When he finds something he really likes he eats until he can't eat anymore. Usually he cries if I take it away before he's done.

One thing that I am thankful for is his smile. On a really bad day, that little grin and those teeth that look so big in his little mouth make the whole day better. He's such a little stinker. He can be doing something bad like pulling the lamps off the table or pulling trash out of the trash can or flushing the commode 10 times in a row and you say "Isaac, what are you doing?" and you get this huge grin that just makes it hard to actually tell him no. He is such a joy in our lives. I can hardly wait to see how much joy this second baby bring us. For those of you wondering, we should be able to find out what we're having (boy or girl) right around Isaac's birthday. I can't believe he will be a year old in about 6 weeks. I asked Bill where this year had gone because it has flown by. I have a feeling the next few years are going to be like that for us.

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks. He has a new obsession. CLOCKS. He loves to see them on a wall and goes crazy if you take them off the wall. Here's a little video of his excitement. He gets so excited over the one on his wall he can't even touch it.

He's excited over the clock

I'm pretty sure he couldn't love his Daddy any more.

No, we didn't let him drink the Pepsi, he was just excited about touching the can.

Here's a cracker Daddy.

It was cold outside.

He loves toast
