Mashed Potatoes

I thought I'd share a funny story with everyone.....
Isaac has been eating cereal nightly which has been a wonderful thing for Mom because he now sleeps 9 or more hours instead of two. But as his 4 month birthday approaches every once in a while we will a taste of food. Since he's been a starving boy all day we decided to share a bite of mashed potatoes. Let's just say this kid is going to love food. He already gives us the stare down while we are eating and follows the food from out plates to our mouths almost begging for a bite. So we caved. He loved the mashed potatoes. He kept eying Bill as he finished his food wanting more. He would give him the pitiful face and stick his bottom lips out, then give him a big smile and laugh and finally tilt his head to the side and scrunch up his shoulder to give him the adorable face until finally Daddy caved and gave him another bite. Is it scary to you that at four months he already knows exactly how to manipulate Mommy and Daddy to get what he wants???? Well it scare me.
His first tooth is trying to pop through already. Yes, he's really too young for that, but I noticed it this week and had one of the ladies at church look and she said it's definitely coming in. I can't believe he's not quite 4 months and already has a tooth coming. He's drooling everywhere which is normal and wants to eat everything. Daddy's finger is his favorite thing to eat.
So what else is new is the world of Isaac???? He's trying to roll over more every day. Occasionally he gets himself over then cries because he scares himself. He got his first stuffed animal this week. We drove to Spokane to pick up Gramma while she came to visit for a few days and while we were there, we stopped at the mall. They just happened to have a Build-a-Bear. We made him a puppy dog that barks and Gramma bought him a mini puppy with a Scarlet and Gray sweater. He loves them both. He also has found his "blankie." Before we knew he was a boy I bought a white blanket that is silky on one side and soft on the other. Even though I tried everything to get him to use this in the hospital he wouldn't and last week he discovered he loves it. I think it's more that it's cool because it's silky and he loves to feel it on his face. As soon as we hand it to him, he loves to pull it over his face. He's just the most adorable thing ever. I'm sure even if he weren't mine I would still think that!
Well, here are some pictures from this week....
Oh wait, as I was choosing pictures I forgot to mention the Johnny Jumper. We put him in it about a month ago and he was just too little. I put him in it yesterday and he fit!!! His little feet touched the floor and he can move himself around in a circle and he thinks he's so big. He loves it.

Johnny Jumper.....I'm so big now.

I wasn't so happy.....

I was a big boy in my stroller and sat in the big part. I love it because I could see all the people at the mall.

Easter Sunday

Each year Easter comes and I feel as thought I understand the death and burial of my Savior in a different way. This year I've thought about it from so many aspects. As someone reminded me what Mary's view of Easter must have been. As a new Mom of a little boy I can't imagine how the mother inside felt. I also have been thinking about how God gave His ONLY Son. What a huge sacrifice. Bill and I both said from the moment we found out we were having baby that this baby would be God's child. He was only ours on loan. However I can't imagine knowing that he was going to be a sacrifice and die for the sins of man. Something else has been on my mind today. Bill mentioned in Children's Church today that when Jesus was on the cross each of our names was on his mind. I have always been baffled by one fact. Not that He was thinking of me, but the fact that in that short period of time every person in the world's name crossed His mind. Something else that baffles me is that when we all pray at the same time, He hears each of our prayers. I think this is a thought that I will never truly grasp. But, now that I have strayed from my original thought, I will get back.
For some reason this year I have really focused on the Resurrection. Usually I think about the sacrifice. There's a line from a Mercy Me song that has been running through my mind lately. "Such a tiny offering compared to Calvary, but never the less, we lay it at your feet." In our human minds, can we ever truly grasp what kind of sacrifice it was for God to give His son? But, this year I've been meditating on the Risen Savior. I am so overwhelmed that without this part of the Easter story, my salvation would mean nothing. Everyone will die a physical death. This is not a shock to any of us. But only my Savior rose again for me. Yes, I know it was for every person, in order to have eternal life. This year I have been consumed that He rose on the third day for me. He was thinking of me. Even though I've known my Savior for a long time, at times I still think that my little "problems" aren't important. But guess what, I serve a God who cares about the little things in my every day life.
So I guess I've been rambling for a while now, but I hope this Easter you've taken time to think about the death, the burial and Resurrection of my Savior.

On another note....here are some pictures of Easter for us.

My new mittens!

Lots of laughs for Mommy. There's something about the Grocery Store this boy loves.

3 Months Old

So today we celebrate Isaac being 3 months old. As always it's hard to believe he's growing up this quickly.

He's rolling over on occassion so I have to be very careful. This morning as I was feeding him, he was laying back on my lap eating and the next thing I knew he was sitting straight up. He's a mover and a shaker, no doubt about it.

To have some fun tonight since he's been grouchy all day, we put on his new outfit from Momaw and Popaw Legge. He got a cute little sleeper with matching mittens, hat and socks. The last time I put mittens on him to sleep because he scratched himself he just took them off. This time, not the same reaction. He's chewed on them for the last 20 minutes just laughing away. He thinks it's the best thing in the world. Here are some pictures.

I'm so cute ;-)

Yummy mittens

UUUUMMMMM

I got so upset when Mommy took them off. Just because they were soaking wet and my hands were like ice.

I will try to post videos tomorrow, but it's been taking hours to get them posted. Enjoy the pictures for now ;-)
