Again it's been a while

So once again I haven't been very good about updating the blog with new pictures. No excuses
this time, it just hasn't been my priority lately. We've had so much going on lately that it's been hard to even get time on the computer. If you know me I check Facebook constantly because I love to know what's going on in peoples lives. Lately I've been lucky to check it once a day. VBS starts on Monday and most of my time lately has been consumed with making sure things will go as planned. Today we cut long paper rolls to make robot arms and legs as well as painted 36 rockets, we have about 10 more to paint, but we ran out of paint. (On a side note, do you know how hard it is to find 10 cans of silver spray paint that doesn't cost $5 a can in Lewiston, not an easy thing to do, plus it's almost crazy how strict they are on using your ID to buy spray paint. Hello, I'm 30! I'm not going to sniff it.) But....moving on.....we still have the set to construct, painting the bodies of the robots, including arms and legs and so much more. Plus......iron on all of the shirt logos. Sheeeesh. Who decided to direct VBS this year???? Oh wait, it was me ;-) All in all it's going to be worth it. The kids will love it and our only goal is to glorify God. I guess I'm not doing that great of an example glorifying God when I'm basically complaining. We've had so much help lately and we are so thankful for all of those people.
On a side note, as we were looking for paint today, I noticed that K-mart had an extra 40% off their clearance and I got some amazing deals!
We leave for Florida in 18 days! So thankful for a vacation. I've already got a good tan started. Well at the moment it's crispy red skin. We took the kids to the pool yesterday for our last "Fun Day" and got burnt yet again. Yes, I put sunscreen on this time. I'm still pealing from the last burn. Then smart me didn't think about today and stood outside in the sun for almost 2 hour painting rockets and came in burnt even more. Can you tell I'm tired today. I left my wallet at Home Depot today which I've never done. Fortunately it was still there when we went back. God's protection for sure.
Update on Isaac: He now is into everything and I mean everything. Some how even though he can't technically crawl yet, he gets himself all moved around and can get just about anything he wants. His favorite thing to do is to climb over things. I had him sitting in Bill's office in hte middle of the floor and turned around and he had gotten on his knees and pulled himself up on a book and was trying to get into his desk drawers. Should it worry me that he loves to climb? I have a feeling my life is about to change drastically in the new few weeks. Here are some pictures.

Such a cutie in the water.

I gotta eat this duck.

What Daddy? You're bothering me.

I am so innocent.

But wait....I see a remote and I must get it.

For some reason he loves to eat the wrong end of his bottle

He loves sitting in the floor playing with his chair instead of sitting in his chair.

It's been a long time

So for my avid blog readers forgive me that it's been forever since I've updated the blog. I have many reasons, mainly because my computer has been getting fixed. For some reason the '2' key decided it would get stuck and after a few days none of the keys on the left side worked. Very frustrating when you're trying to type or do anything for that matter.
We've been busy with Bill preaching last week, still getting ready for VBS, having the Fun Day every Wednesday for the kids at church and watch our boy grow up WAY too quick.
Isaac has master rolling over and sitting up in the last couple of week and he's on his way to crawling. Before you know it he'll be crawling everywhere. He has a special skill for getting into everything, especially when I tell him no. Plus his new favorite thing is to spit everywhere and laughs when I tell him no. He's mastered "da-da" although he doesn't quite yet acquaint it with Bill. He waved goodbye to Bill the other morning and then Bill didn't want to leave. Bill is taking tomorrow off to spend with us since he had some flex time. I am so thankful that his schedule is flexible and when he's working lots of hours he can take off some time. We're planning a trip to WinCo tomorrow. You know me and my deals, WinCo is an amazing grocery store with the best prices. It's worth the 30 minute drive for sure. Plus, we've found there's a Papa John's pizza. We haven't had really good pizza since we got here so we're happy for that.
We head to Florida a month from tomorrow. We can hardly wait to see everybody. Isaac has developed such a personality lately and LOVES to be the center of attention which I'm sure he will be the center of attention for 7 days straight. I'm just happy Mom has a pool now because he loves the water and never wants to get out. I think I might put his little pool up this afternoon and let him play when he gets up from him nap.

Here are some pictures to catch you up on the last week or so....

I found him this way after his nap

Fun Day with the kids from church at the River

Oh Daddy has a sandwich and I want it.

I will get it.

He kept staring and reaching so I gave it to him. He just licked it mostly.

King of the Duckies during bath time.

He favors the pirate ducky.

He stands at the tub and bounces up and down he gets so excited for a bath. This was right after his 6 month shots and he somehow got the band aids off himself.

Froggy butt!

Swinging at the park....another Fun Day for the kids at church.

He drinks out of a sippy cup now. He thinks he's big.

I'm finally big enough to wear these overalls Nana made.

4th of July

So we went to a picnic today with lots of friends from church for a 4th of July celebration!
Isaac got to swim in the pool for the first time and the water lover that he is, he enjoyed himself thoroughly! We had amazing ribs for dinner! Now we are sitting here relaxing after sitting in the sun in the 105 degree heat wondering if the fireworks are going to wake up the little man.

We also celebrated my birthday! I'll be 30 on Monday. How did this happen?

Oh he grows up

It's almost Isaac's six month birthday, can you believe it? This week he has mastered the art of rolling over and over and over and over. I am not exaggerating. I lay him in the bed and hear him talking a few minutes later, he's rolled over. He doesn't want to nap or sleep at night because he thinks it's fun to roll over.
Tonight I heard him cry and went to check on him and he was laying on his back with his feet propped up on the bumper pads with his hands behind his head just laughing and eating his blanket. Oh he's just so funny. Here's a pictures after he conked out from sheer exhaustion today.

I've found a new use for the high chair since he's not quite big enough to eat it in. He likes to sit in it and play while I clean up.

Hey Daddy, look at this.

Big smile for Daddy!

God speaking

So once again, God just smacked me in the face tonight.

Everyone has struggles in their lives and everyone has those times when you go through a valley. Then comes the time that you pick yourself up and start to live again. This week has been one of those times for me. For a few days last week, I was having a pity party for myself. For various and sundry reasons, nothing really specific. Then after praying for days for God to take my crappy attitude away then I realized that I needed to get over myself. Life isn't all about me.

So today an old friend and I reconnected even more than we already had through Facebook and God has used her in my life today more than she knows. I picked up "My Utmost for His Highest" to read before I headed to bed as I've been doing lately. Tonight, I knew that God put these words on the page for me.

Oswald Chambers wrote:

"The Overshadowing of God's Personal Deliverance"

"I am with you to deliver you," says the Lord. Jeremiah 1:8

"Wherever God sends us, He will guard our lives. Our personal property and possessions are to be a matter of indifference to us, and out hold on these things should be very loose. If this is not the case, we will have panic, heartache, and distress. Having the proper outlook is evidence of the deeply rooted belief in the overshadowing of God's personal deliverance."

It's been one of those days that I've been consumed with worrying about the things that we "need" or "want." What we don't have rather than what we do have. Wondering what I can change or do in order to have the things that we "need." Reading this made me realize several things. 1) I have everything that I need. I have a family that loves me, my bills are paid and there's food on my table. I have an amazing house. 2) God will guard me and take care of me. He always does. 3) Yes, this is a repeat, I have all of my needs met. Not all of my wants, but everything I need and many things that I want, I have. God reminded me tonight that He never leaves us, even when we can't necessarily see Him working, He is working. He might not provide like we think He's going to, but we can't overlook the times that He does provide for us. Like when someone shows up at church with a can of formula because they can't use it. God is always faithful.
I needed this reminder tonight and as I say, when God smacks me around I have to share it because someone else might need this message too and this is my sharing place for right now.

Yes.....another video

So tonight was a fun night.

Bill and I lowered the crib so that Isaac wouldn't escape if he got adventurous. After that, Bill and I were sitting on the couch and Bill stood him up and said walk to Mommy and he held his has and walked right across the couch. So we made him do it over and over until we could get the cameras. I can't believe he's growing so fast.

Busy Tuesday

So Tuesdays are our Monday's since Bill has Monday off it's like we have an extra day to the weekend. So we have a busy week ahead. I thought summer was supposed to be a relaxing quiet time. Not so much.
This summer we're doing a program for the kids on Wednesday's. Each week we're trying to do something different in order to give Mom's a break over the summer. Tomorrow we're having a water day. It should be very fun!
But today, I have to go to the store, then to Honk's for .88 cents Tuesdays to see if I can find some garden tools to dig up the weeds outside our house that are slowly but surely taking over. Then we're home to fix lunch and eat with Bill, a VBS meeting at 2:00, then off to the store yet again to get lunch for the kids tomorrow, then home to get some other things done for our water day. Who says being a stay at home Mom isn't a job. All the while caring for my pterodactyl son. Okay so he's on an extinct dinosaur, but he sure sounds like one ;-) He's honing his animal sounds, every day it's a different animal.
Did I mention that we have to lower the crib tonight????? My little boy is getting not so little anymore. He doesn't cry anymore when he wakes up in the morning. Well, he does if I let him lay there too long. But usually that doesn't happen. He makes his animal sound of the day until Mommy wakes up enough to go to his room or deems it time to get up. Yesterday I walked in his room and was surprised to find him on his back and he's a belly sleeper. So now that we're rolling over and when he pushes up on his hands his head pops over the rail, it's time to lower the crib so we don't have any accidents. I'm not sure what we're going to do with the Pack-n-play downstairs yet because we have the same problem, but the only option that we have is to take the bassinet part out but then I'm too short to reach him in the regular crib part. So we will have to see.
Isaac is trying to crawl and he can move if he feels like it. (See the video below) It's quite funny to see how far he can move when he wants to and how he just lays there and laughs at you when he doesn't want to move. The other new thing he does is he learned how to spit. When we tell him "no spitting" he literally laughs at us. I hope this doesn't continue ;-) He's sleeping a lot and eating a lot so I have a feeling we're going through another growth spurt. I noticed his 3-6 month clothes are starting to get hard to button. This time is just going by so fast.
I must mention that I have such a good baby yet again. Even though he's only been up for 2 hours and we've gone through 2 sets of clothes, four diapers, a bath, a bottle and a jar of fruit, he's already back asleep for his morning nap. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when he finally gives that morning nap up. Hopefully that won't be for a while.

Here are a few pictures from the last week and from Father's Day. Bill says he had a great first Father's Day. We got him a shirt with football helmet's that says #1 Dad. He was so proud he wore it to church on Sunday morning.

We were working in the yard and he couldn't figure out where that noise was coming from.

Hanging out while Mom pulls weeds.

Hey that's my Daddy!

There he is again!

Oh I love these toes.

The girls at the party wore me out, I'm so tired.

Oh shoes! I love shoes cause they have toes inside and I can see my toes move inside these shoes!

Father's Day!

Oh Mom, open this cereal, it's the best.

Okay, if you won't open it, I'll eat the box.

I'm gonna try and crawl.

I'm gonna eat the cereal.
