The River

Yesterday was such a beautiful day we couldn't exactly see spending it inside. So after church and the most important nap for Isaac we headed out to get some diapers and for a trip to the park. We couldn't exactly decide which park to go to. It seems as though Sunday's are park days around here. Everyone wants to go and I'm not 100% comfortable letting my little man play on the swings and such with the big kids because he doesn't realize anyone else is there when he gets excited. So Daddy decided to try to find a new park. Then the idea hit him to go over to the River to see if Isaac liked the water. He loves the bath and loves the pool yet large bodies of water scare him. He freaked out at the ocean last summer. When we got there he walked down about 3 feet from the water and a boat came through and brought waves on the shore. Once again the poor child shook and cried. He was so scared. So we stood up on the path for a little bit then Daddy started throwing rocks in the water. Throwing things is one of Isaac's favorite things to do. So after a few minutes of watching he grabbed Bill's hand and walked down to the water. As long as the boats didn't come he was fine. I think it's the sound of the water moving that scares him, but who knows. He stood there and threw rocks with Daddy for almost an hour before Mommy had to sit down. He has such a good time. He cried and cried when it was time to go home. Here are a few pictures. And a video, hopefully.
