There have been many times in my life that God has sent me on a journey. Each time I say I need to sit down and write down how God proved Himself faithful until He revealed the reason for my journey or the end of the journey. I've done this before but I always seem to misplace it. This time I'm putting it in a place where it can't be lost. The Internet :-) Don't "they" say if you put it on the Internet it's always out there? This way my kids can look down at this 20 or 30 years down the road and make fun of us for the technology we used, but will hopefully look at this as a reminder of who God is and how faithful He really is.
On March 13, 2010, our lives changed and have been every changing since that day. At times we felt more overwhelmed than ever. We had no job, a baby due in a few weeks and a very busy toddlers. What to do, where to go, how and when do we go? So many questions and no answers. In May we decided that on June 15th we would move to Florida. This was the first decision to make and God changed my heart completely and how thankful I am about this. With some insight, both positive and negative, from others we knew this was what God wanted. Every now and then Satan creeps in and makes you doubt these big decision in your life. Little things like are we stupid to move 3 weeks after I have a C-section, 3 weeks after having a new baby, having a toddler, having no place to go, no job to go to, but knowing if needed our family would help us. There have been times in the last 4 months we've doubted so many things, wondering if we were following God or being comfortable. I am here to tell you I'm so thankful that we made the decision to move when we decided to move.
A short list of how God has once again proved Himself faithful and provided.
We were able to sell almost all of our things (except our personal things) to provide us some money to travel on.
5 days before we left, God provided a place for us to live rent free for about 2 months. (Just like God, in His timing, right before we leave)
Noah and I have had no problems since his birth, except for extreme exhaustion. Doesn't every new mom have this though.
We started for Columbus, OH with our little car packed to gills. While in Columbus we got to spend some time with good friends and family which was long overdue. We were able to do a little shopping which was great therapy for me ;-) While is Columbus, we were given a gift that covered almost all of the money that we spent while we were in Columbus. What a huge blessing.
We then went to Huntington where our boys were completely spoiled by their Grandparents and many others. Isaac found his new best friend in Popaw and was so sad to leave him. When we left he put his head on the side of his car seat and sat there very depressed. Then he kept asking for Popaw for several hours. The next day he saw sand at a rest stop and asked for Popaw again. That was sad for me. Once again, God blessed us with a gift that more than covered anything that we spent while we were there. God is so good.
The downfall of everything is that while in Huntington we found out that all of our belongings are still in Washington. Instead of getting mad, we just decided to wait and got an amazing call that moving company would pay for hotels and food since our stuff was not here when promised. How amazing is that since we were already traveling.
We arrived in Florida earlier than expected, just by a few hours, to my families excitement. We were able to move into our temporary home on Monday which was wonderful. It's nice to be back in one place for more than 3 days. The boys have been so great, but stability is always good. On Sunday someone from my Mom's church gave her a swing to let us borrow until our things came. This was a life saver. Noah hasn't been sleeping that great lately. He slept the first night in the swing for almost 5 hours. That was so wonderful for me. We received gift cards to Target (my favorite store) from two people we don't even know. We needed to pick up another baby monitor, even though we already have two that are on the truck, because Isaac's room is on the other end of the house. Someone stopped by my Mom's work and said we could use their monitor. There are several things on the truck that we really need for the boys. Because it's the moving company's delay, they will reimburse us for the big things we need while we're waiting on our things. god provides things in amazing ways.
We got a call yesterday that our things will be shipped on July 2 and should arrive around my birthday. Still another week and half away, but so thankful that they are at least on the way.
God has blessed us so much and we are so thankful for everything He has provided in His way and in His timing. This journey has been difficult at times. To be honest, more than difficult. traveling across the country with 2 boys, not sure what we're going to do when we got here, not having our things and not having a job. But every time we are patient and wait for God before we try to solve the problems on our own. Now we are just waiting on a job for one of us and permanent place to live. God will provide, we just have to be patient.
We are so thankful for this journey, I know that sounds weird, but we are convinced that God is teaching us to wait on Him for everything we need.

Thank you, Anne, for this amazing testimony! What an encouragement you are to me!!! I, too, want to remember God's goodness and faithfulness to us and to pass that on to the next generation!
